Eva Fampas

Composer and performer

Greek-born guitar virtuoso Eva Fampas, highly acclaimed internationally, has performed in more than 25 countries in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa in famous music festivals and prestigious concert halls. She was a soloist with the Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, the Kalamaria Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Russia directed by Veronika Dudarova, the ARCO Moscow string orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra string ensemble, the Bombay String Orchestra and many more. Many excellent composers have written and dedicated their works to her and among them Dimitris Fampas, Yiu-Kwong Chung (the Guitar concerto “For Eva”), Andersen Viana, Waltel Branco, G. Mizzi, D. Nikitos, Eduardo Morales-Caso.

She has recorded 5 albums which are often played on the radios around the world. (“Capriccio Diabolico” – Berben & IGS, 2007; “Eva Fampas Plays Fampas” – Aulia, 2005; “A Guitar Portrait Of Fantasy” – Wave Music GR, 2002).

Eva Fampas collaborates with famous publishing houses worldwide for the edition of guitar works, she supervises all the editions of Dimitris Fampas’ music, and she also composes works for young guitarists. She graduated with honours from the National Conservatory of Athens where she studied guitar with Dimitris Fampas and music composition with Dimitris Dragatakis. She has also attended the conducting class of Theodore Antoniou and master classes by Leo Brouwer. She is the Founder and President of the Guitar Friends Association “Dimitris Fampas” and Artistic Director of the International Guitar Days of Lafkos.
